About Us

The Eritrean Community Cultural and Civic Center St. Louis traces its roots back to the early 1980s when the first wave of Eritrean refugees sought and opportunity in the area. Through hard work and resilience they became vital members of the community. Over the years, their have thrived, contributing to fields such as education, medicine, and business. Our community is committed to preserving our heritage while sharing our rich culture through events programs, and classes, fostering understanding and cooperation St. Louis.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a foundational community that connects refugees, first-generation families, and Eritrean born in the U.S. We strive to provide access to knowledge about our heritage and history through education and social interaction, while also addressing community issues through mutual support and self-help initiatives.

Our Purpose

The Eritrean Community Cultural and Civic Center of St. Louis is dedicated to meeting our expanding community's needs and evolving priorities. We aim to maintain cultural awareness within the diaspora and cultivate connections that promote a sense of empowerment. Our daily efforts involve supporting community leaders, helping new immigrants and refugees, enhancing adults' language and job skills, and fostering educational and leadership ambitions among our youth.
